The two hundred and sixty-sixth Pope of the Catholic Church, whose service started since March 13, 2013. He is also the bishop of Rome and sovereign of the Vatican City State. Pope Francis was elected following an electoral council that was the shortest in the history of closed councils. He is considered the Supreme Pontiff, the first pope from the New World, South America, and Argentina, and the first pope from outside Europe since the reign of Pope Gregory III (731-741). A member of the Jesuit Order, making him the first Jesuit pope, which is considered one of the largest, most influential, and effective organizations of the Catholic Church. He appeared with his real character in the movie The Two Popes (2019).
