American actress born on 21 October 1884 in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was one of the leading Broadway actresses for 3 decades, starting with 'The Two Orphans' in 1903. Her film roles include: So Red the Rose (1935) and The Mark of Zorro (1940). She died on 6 August 1955 of a heart attack, at age 70.
