An American actress, ballet dancer, and author. She was born in Los Angeles, California, USA. She is the daughter of actor and director John Derek and actress Pati Behrs and the granddaughter of actress Dolores Johnson and director and producer Lawson Harris. She has worked in many fields of film and television, ranging from acting to writing. She began her writing career as a photojournalist, has been published repeatedly in magazines such as People, Time, US, and Paris Match, and has authored two books, both of which made the New York Times bestseller list.
