British actor, born August 25, 1909 in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom as Eric Alexander Rainey. He graduated from Liz School in Cambridge, England. He married actress Maggie Rainey, and they got a child. He is known for The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), Les Miserables (1952), and The Lost World (1960). He died on June 10, 1971, in Harrogate, Yorkshire, England, UK, emphysema, aged 61.
