American actor born Elliott Blum in The Bronx, New York on 18 June 1917. He began his career on stage, before focusing on films. His most notable films include Tarantula (1955), Indestructible Man (1956), Kelly's Heroes (1970), and The Towering Inferno (1974). He also made various television appearances, including Perry Mason (1958) and The Twilight Zone (1963). He passed away on 12 August, 1999 in Los Angeles, California of cancer, at age 82.
