After serving as the Q Theatre's...Read more assistant stage manager, he attended London's Royal Central School of Speech and Drama to study drama. He worked with the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and the Royal Theatre Company during his lengthy and illustrious theatrical career. In recognition of his contributions to theater, he was named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1977. His most notable works include The Three Musketeers (1966-1967), The Watcher in the Woods (1980), The Man Who Finally Died (1959), and Mrs. Brown (1997). He passed away in Warwickshire, England, United Kingdom, at the age of 88.
