American actress, playwright, screenwriter and singer, born in Brooklyn, New York on 17 August 1893. She began performing professionally in vaudeville at the age of 14, and she starred in various Broadway plays. She's known for She Done Him Wrong (1933), I'm No Angel (1933), and My Little Chickadee (1940). She was married two times and had no children. She had a long-running career in entertainment that spanned over seven decades. She passed away on 22 November, 1980 in Los Angeles, California, at age 87.
