American actress born in Fort Worth, Texas on 3 August 1907. She was married three times and had one child. Ames began her acting career in small roles in silent films. She's known for The Death Kiss (1932), Gigolette (1935), Harmony Lane (1935), and Slander House (1938). She passed away on 31 May 1947 of cancer in New York City, at age 43.
