An Armenian actor, who began his career in 1955 at the Stanislavski Russian Theatre in Yerevan, and in 1967, he moved to the Lenkom Theatre in Moscow. He participated in many works, including The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed, Vanished Empire, and The Drayman and the King. He received the Armenian Republic State Prize for Snow in Mourning (1979). He became People's Artist of the USSR in 1985.
