American actor born on 22 March 1910 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He began his career on stage in 1928. His most notable works include The Seventh Cross (1944), Rhapsody in Blue (1945) and The Court Jester (1956). He made various television appearances starting from 1950 till 1982. He passed away on 9 September 2006 in California of a heart attack, at age 96.
