French actor, born in Athis Mons, Seine-Oise, France, as Jean-François Robert Alexis Calves. He made his debut in the movie The Royalists (1947). His works include The Aeronauts (1968), Turcaret (1968), and Shock Treatment (1973). He died on October 8, 2014, at the age of 89.
