A Japanese writer and manga artist, born in Tamano, Okayama, Japan. He obtained a degree in sociology at Kansai University. He became a cartoonist after graduation. In 1977, he published his book "Byte-kun." He is known for My Neighbors the Yamadas (1999), Crusher Joe: The Movie (1983), and The Heat of the Pennant Race (1980).
