American actress born in Spokane, Washington on 3 July 1921. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Random Harvest (1942). She's known for The Sign of the Ram (1947), Andy Hardy's Double Life (1942) and Young Ideas (1943). Her promising career was cut short, after a hunting accident left her paralyzed in 1945, after which she suffered from an eating disorder and she passed away on 23 October 1952, at age 31.
