A Moroccan director, director of photography, and producer, born in Oujda, Morocco. He began his artistic career in 1964 as a cameraman in one of Mostafa Derkaoui’s, his brother's, short films after receiving his education in Bologna, Italy. He also studied in several national institutes specialized in cinema. He participated in 37 Moroccan films between the years 1974 and 2004, including About Some Meaningless Events, Other People's Wedding, and Naoura. He also participated in several foreign films filmed in Morocco. He also participated with Moulay Driss Kettani and directed Cairo Street (1998). His other works include Bouchaib the Blessed (2008) and Road to Tangier (2012).
