An American boxer and actor, born in New York, USA. He began his career as a jockey, boxer, and musician, then became an active theater actor. From 1926-1933, he practiced boxing. During World War II, he continued to act in plays and films. He became known as a civil rights activist. He died May 9, 1952, in New York, USA. He is known for Lifeboat (1944).
