A Yemeni screenwriter and journalist, born in Moscow, Russia, and grew up there until his return to Aden, Yemen, in 1984. He is the son of journalist Farouk Mustafa Refaat. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Department of Journalism and Media, majoring in Journalism in 1999,...Read more and worked as an editor and producer of news programs. His first short story was published in 2000 in the Adeni newspaper Al-Ayyam, and his short stories continued to be published locally and regionally. He then turned to screenwriting in 2012, with his first work being the series The Fun Avenue (2012). He also co-wrote the series Last Chance (2013) and the film 10 Days Before the Wedding (2018), for which he won the Best Screenplay Award at the Casablanca Arab Film Festival.
