An American actress, born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. She was married four times and did not have children. She began her career on stage, until she worked on Broadway and performed many theatrical works. Then she moved to Hollywood, and made her film debut in Fugitive Lady (1934), opposite Neil Hamilton. She made five films with actor Robert Young, such as Paradise for Three (1938). Her other credits include Sweethearts (1938), At the Circus (1939) and Double Wedding (1937). During the 1940s, her roles diminished, so she retired after making her last film, The Ghost and the Guest (1943). She died of lung cancer on February 23, 1974.
