A French writer and philosopher, born in Paris, France, as François-Marie Arouet. He studied at Lycée Louis-le-Grand, where he learned Latin. Voltaire wrote many works in all literary forms, including plays, poetry, novels, and essays. His works were adopted into many movies, including L'ingenuo (1921), Prostodushnyy (1994), Erotic Adventures of Candy) (1978), and L'or et le plomb (1966). He died on May 30, 1778, in Paris, France.
