An Indian actress and director, born to painter Jatin Das and writer Varsha Das in Mumbai, India. She obtained a bachelor's degree in Geography from Miranda House University and a master's degree in Social Work from the Delhi College of Social Work, affiliated with the University of Delhi. In 2014, she was a Yale World Fellow. She has also taught at the Rishi Valley School. She started her acting career with the street theatre group Jana Natya Manch. She has appeared in over 40 feature films with directors such as Mrinal Sen and Adoor Gopalakrishnan. Among her credits are Fire, Zwigato, and Manto.
