Eileen Freha is the first Lebanese female to appear on the cinema screen through the movie Red Flowers (1957). She married George Dafouni at a time when television was not widespread in Lebanon. Red Flowers is the first Lebanese film shown in Beirut theaters. The film tells a story about Lebanese rural and mountain traditions. The film attracted viewers even though it was not filmed using modern techniques and technology.
