An English actor, playwright, and novelist, born in Woking, Surrey, England, United Kingdom. Ian married two times and had one child. His credits include Driving Aphrodite (2009), Death Becomes Her (1992), Wuthering Heights (1970), and I, Claudius (1976). He graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and has worked in film, television, and theatre. He performed in many plays in West End theatres, played a James Bond-like character in a series of television commercials, and became an American citizen.
