Former professional American soccer player. She played for the Orlando Pride of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States women's national soccer team. Her high school team selected her to play for the United States national team in the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. Then she joined the University of California and helped her team win school and university championships in California and the United States of America. She was the youngest player on the United States' roster in the Women's World Cup in 2011, won the gold medal in the London Olympics in 2012, and won the Women's World Cup in 2015. Her professional career includes the Western New York Flash club in 2011, and she also played with the Western New York Flash club. She played for Portland Thorns in 2013, joined the French club Lyon in 2017, and returned to Orlando Pride in 2020. She appeared on the cover of Time magazine in 2019 and presented several documentaries.
