Iranian director, born in 1959 in Tehran, Iran. He graduated from the Faculty of Cinema and Theater at Tehran University of Art. He began his career by directing, writing, and editing short films in 1980. His films and TV series are among the most popular works in the Iranian market and were accepted in international cinematic festivals. He made his debut as an assistant director in Hatamikia's Identity. He is known for The Lizard (2004), A Piece of Bread (2005), and A Mother's Love (1998).
