He worked and sang in the American Theater Wing in New York City and received a Fulbright Scholarship for voice performance. He was licensed by the US Coast Guard to captain commercial vessels and was also qualified as a marine surveyor. He obtained a certified real estate appraiser license and was a member of the American Arbitration Association Commercial Panel. He appeared in his latest work, Bad Memories (2009), and died two years later of cancer in Marina del Rey, California, USA, on July 18, 2011.
