A Spanish film director, born in 1964 in Barcelona, Spain. Maria studied screenwriting in Los Angeles at the American Film Institute, and she also shot the short film Kill Me Later there. In 2014, she directed the independent drama film Traces of Sandalwood, starring Aina Clotet. The film was shot in Mumbai and Barcelona in Hindi, English, and Catalan. It won the Gaudí Award for Best Film in the Catalan Language as well as the award for Most Popular Film of the Festival at the Montréal World Film Festival in 2014.
