She is a Canadian actress, born in Toronto, Canada. Her mother is Valéria Gyenge, the Olympic gold medalist for Hungary in 1952, and her father is János Garai, a former Hungarian water polo player. She studied at the George Brown Theatre School and began her life on the stage, becoming an accomplished stage actress. Since 1988, she has appeared in various productions. Her notable works include Storm of the Century (1999), Nothing (2003), and The Color of Friendship (2000).
