American actress, born in New York City, November 29, 1899. Her father, Thomas Tobin, a bank employee who later became a bookmaker, is the daughter of a stage artist, and appeared as Little Eva in Uncle Tom's Silent Cabin (1910). Her older brother George Tobin and younger sister Vivian Tobin became theater and film actors. As a teenager, she participated in the Broadway theater in the twenties of the last century, most notably Maha's work, One Hour with You, 1932, 1934, Easy to Love, Kiss and Make-Up, 1934, Goodbye Again, 1933, No Time for Comedy, 1940, The Woman in Red, 1935.
