British director, writer, and actor, born on March 20, 1891, in Middlesex, England. He got married to Marjorie Moss. Among his most famous works are: Reaching for the Moon (1930), Grand Hotel (1932), White Banners (1938), and Dark Victory (1939). He died on December 24, 1959, in Los Angeles, after a heart surgery, at the age of 68.
