José Torvay is a Mexican actor, born in Durango, Mexico, on January 28, 1909, as Jose Yanez Torvay. Among his most important works are The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948), The Torch (1950), My Outlaw Brother (1951), and Two Mules for Sister Sara (1979). Torvay mainly worked in Mexican cinema, and he also worked in Hollywood, where he participated in some American films. His first work was in Mexico, in the film Huapango (1938), and he concluded his artistic career with the American film Kid Blue (1973). Torvay died on September 26, 1973, in Mexico at the age of 64.
