An American architect, who created a monumental and homogeneous architectural style, founded a design center and worked as a critic and professor at the University of Pennsylvania Department of Architecture in the United States. He has written several books, including Louis I. Kahn: Silence and Light and The Notebooks and Drawings of Louis I. Kahn. He also appeared in the 2003 documentary My Architect, which chronicled his life story.
