An American actor who was born in Brooklyn, New York, on January 24, 1927 as Marvin Wilbur Kaplan and died in Tarzana, California, on August 25, 2016. Kaplan was an American comedian, screenwriter and playwright. He graduated from District High School in 1943, obtained a degree in English in 1947 from Brooklyn College, and came to Hollywood in 1947 to write for radio and theater. He took theater lessons at the University of Southern California. He was discovered by Oscar star Katharine Hepburn, and acted with her in Adam's Rib (1949). Marvin Kaplan is best known for: Wild at Heart (1990), A New Kind of Love (1963), It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Mad World (1963), and The Great Race (1965).
