British actor, born on October 2, 1892, in England. He was raised in Germany. He made his film debut in The Revolutionist (1914). Among his most famous works are: The Beloved Rogue (1927), Freaks (1932), and To Be or Not to Be (1942). He died at 15 March, 1945, in Hollywood, due to a brain tumor, at the age of 52.
