She made her film debut with Utharayanam (1974). In 1975, she acted in Boy Friend and later in Pichathikutappan (1979), both directed by P. Venu. She has appeared in over 60 films and won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her role in Swapnadanam (1974). She made her Tamil cinema debut with Vaazhthugal (2008). She has also done a few advertisements and appeared in talk and game shows.
