A German writer and theater director, born in the city of Ludwigshafen, on the Rhine River, in Germany. He is the son of the writer Eckart Hachfeld and the older brother of the cartoonist Rainer Hachfeld. After he presented his first children’s play Stokkerlok and Millipilli with his brother, he became the founder of the modern children's theatre, as there was no children's theater in West Germany before. His theater in the German capital, Berlin, became known as the GRIPS Theater. His works have also been translated into forty languages, and Ludwig remained the theater director and main writer of the theater throughout all those years. His play Linie 1 constituted a milestone in his life. This play, which was first performed in 1986, was directed by Wolfgang Klunder. It was turned into a film by director Reinhard Hof. It was also presented internationally in several versions, and in the Arab world, the Khaleej Aden Theater Group reproduced it under the name Going Down with You in 2009.
