American film and television actress, born on April 15, 1923 in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in Utah and in Seattle. She has appeared in about 65 films in her 38-year career. Her film roles include: Ocean's 11 (1960), McHale's Navy (1964) and Bite the Bullet (1975). She retired in 1976 and died of liver cancer on January 3, 1989, at age 65.
