A Brazilian-Italian economist and politician, born on September 29, 1958, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Due to his mother's Italian ancestry, Cunha also holds Italian citizenship. He started working part-time as an insurance broker. From 1978 to 1980, he worked as an auditor for the Arthur Andersen firm. Eduardo Cunha majored in economics at the Universidade Candido Mendes, and between 1980 and 1982, he served as an economist at Xerox of Brazil. As for his political affiliations, he was active in the Progressive Party from 1994 to 2003, and then the Brazilian Democratic Movement from 2003 to 2022. Cunha served as President of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil from February 2015 until May 5, 2016. He appeared as himself in The Edge of Democracy (2019) and The Trial (2018).
