An American screenwriter, director, and actress, born on December 15, 1955, in the United States. She graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, Virginia, with a degree in theatre and classics in 1977. She spent her first year studying in Athens and participated in a production by the Greek National Opera. Driver taught directing at NYU's Graduate Film School (1996–1998), where she received her Master of Fine Arts degree in 1982. She made her writing debut in You Are Not I (1981) and is known for Broken Flowers (2005) and Sleepwalk (1986).
