At the age of 14, she won a local competition called “Be a Model.” She signed with Storm Model Management agency and began working as a model. French director Jean-Jacques Annaud spotted her on the cover of Just Seventeen magazine, and she was chosen to star in his film L'amant (1992), based on a novel by Marguerite Duras. Two years after L'amant (1992), she co-starred with Bruce Willis in the thriller Color of Night (1994), directed by Richard Rush, and then co-starred in Clash of the Titans (2010) and Blood of Beasts (2005).
