She is an American actress, born on March 1, 1882 in Altoona, Kansas. She started working in films in 1925, but she focused on her film career full-time in the mid-1940s, at which time she was in her sixties. She's known for Johnny Belinda (1948), The Egg and I (1947) and The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show (1950). She died on September 26, 1964 in Los Angeles, at age 82.
