British writer, born on December 24, 1906 in London. He was known for his thriller novels, many of which were adapted into films. Among his important works are: The Blonde from Peking (1967), and The Night of the Generals (1967). He got married to Sylvia Ray, and he died on February 6, 1985 in Switzerland.
