After learning the flute, violin, and piano at the Istanbul Conservatory, he worked as a musician at the Ankara State Conservatory and the Presidential Symphony Orchestra in 1949. To try his luck in Hollywood, he set off and went to the United States in 1956, where he appeared in two films: A Certain Smile (1958) and Twelve to the Moon (1960). He was the first Turkish actor to appear in Hollywood films. He died on October 4, 2011, at the age of 92, in Izmir, Turkey.
