American actress, born on July 4, 1953, in Baltimore, Maryland. She made her first film appearance in Key Exchange (1985). In 1981, she participated in Lanford Wilson's play, "Balm in Gilead", at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago, for which she won the Joseph Jefferson Award for Cameo Performance. She is known for The Golden Girls (1989-1991), Dream On (1991), and The Golden Palace (1993).
