British actress, writer, director, and producer, born on October 1, 1987, as Michaela Boakye-Collinson to parents from Ghana. She was raised in Tower Hamlets by her mother. She studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She received the Laurence Olivier Bursary and graduated in 2012. In 2013, she made her debut at the Bush Theatre, and in the same year transferred to the National Theatre. She is known for Chewing Gum (2015-2017) and I May Destroy You (2020).
