He was a Japanese actor, born on November 23, 1923, in Gunma, Japan. Among his notable works are Godzilla 1985 (1985), The Lost Alibi (1960), and Sanjuro (1962). He received many awards for Best Actor, such as the Blue Ribbon Award for his role in Ware hitotsubu no mugi naredo (1964) and a Mainichi Film Concours for Ano natsu no hi (1999). He died on September 16, 2010, in Minato City, Tokyo, Japan.
