An American politician, born on 2 January 1909 in Phoenix, Arizona, US. He served in the U.S. Air Force in 1941. He also was a member of the Phoenix City Council. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in the early 1950s. He appeared as himself in The Fog of War: Eleven Lessons from the Life of Robert S. McNamara (2003). He died on 29 May 1998.
