A Moroccan dancer, choreographer, and director, born in Casablanca, Morocco. He worked with great choreographers, such as Peter Van Dyck, Georges Lefebvre, and others. In 1978, he founded a dance school and a troupe (Le Ballet-Théâtre Zinoun), with his wife Michel Barrett, from which several dancers graduated. After he gained international fame, he performed in the West and the Arab world. He designed the choreography of several cinematic works, including The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) by Martin Scorsese and The Sheltering Sky (1990) by Bernardo Bertolucci. He directed the film Oud l'ward ou la beauté éparpillée (2007) and three short films; including Assamt (2001), Piano (2002), and Faux pas (2003).
