He is a Spanish actor and director, born on July 17, 1965, in Madrid, Spain. He was an AFS student at Dobbs Ferry High School in Dobbs Ferry, NY. He is known for Torrente, el brazo tonto de la ley (1998), Hellboy (2004), and Pacific Rim (2013). Among his numerous awards and nominations, he won the Goya Award for Best Short Fiction Film for Perturbado (1993). He is married to María Amaro, with whom he has two children.
