A Russian actress, born in Leningrad, Russian SFSR (now Saint Petersburg). After completing her studies at the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinema in 1975,. Maria began working in the Russian Academic Theater, and then began appearing on screen. Her works include Russian Ark (2002), Taurus (2001), Glaza (1992), and The Italian (2005).
