• An Iranian director and actress, born in Arak, Iran. As a child, she starred in The Singer Cat (1991), but her breakthrough came with her second film, The Girl in the Sneakers...Read more (1999), for which she won the Best Actress Award at the Cairo Film Festival. Her performance was highly praised by critics and filmmakers, and she also won the Best Actress Award at the Isfahan International Film Festival for Children and Youth. Her most notable works include The Maritime Silk Road (2011), Gisoum (2021), and The Worker Bee (2020). She also played three different roles in Women's Prison (2002), directed by her mother, director Manijeh Hekmat. She won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Fajr Film Festival in 2013 for her role in Trapped.
