An English actress, born in London, England, United Kingdom. She was evacuated to Hampshire during World War II and later trained with the Royal Academy of Arts RADA. She came to prominence in Joan Littlewood's famous Theater Workshop at the Theatre Royal, Stratford. In the 1960s and 1970s, she became a familiar face in numerous one-off sitcom roles and supporting parts in films. She's known for Man About the House (1973), A Man for All Seasons (1966) and George and Mildred (1980). She died on August 24, 1980 in Westminster, London of liver failure.
